Veteran defender Paul Robinson rolled back the years to inspire a Blues comeback against QPR. The club-captain scored the equaliser and put in a solid display in the heart of the defence.

It is no coincidence that Blues have taken maximum points, and been more solid defensively, in the three games that Robbo has started. After the criticism he received from a minority of fans after a couple of bad games towards the back end of last season, his recent form is the perfect way to stick two fingers up.

His inclusion was seen as a way freshen things up for a game or two, and to give Jonathan Spector a well-earned rest. But his performances have forced Gary Rowett to stick with him – and rightly so. Robbo, for me and many others, was easily the man of the match.

Although QPR went ahead, Blues were never really starring their third straight home defeat in the eye. The belief in the team remained and the fans stayed behind their team. Simply put, Blues were more ‘together` than their opposition.

With two away games against Bolton and Hull approaching, one win would see Blues maintain their competitive league position.
