Revealed – 87% Of Birmingham Fans Polled Against Swoop For League One Defender

|

The club have been linked with a move for Oxford United left-back Ricardinho in recent days. HITC had suggested we were one of three clubs monitoring the Brazilian.

There are a couple of reasons why a move for the League One defender doesn’t make any sense to me. Firstly, we have already signed a new left-sided defender in Kristian Pedersen this summer.

Secondly, we haven’t offloaded Jonathan Grounds yet so why would we focus our attention on this position when there are other areas of the pitch where there are more pressing concerns? A large majority of fans polled agree that signing Ricardinho shouldn’t be a priority for us:

This, of course, also doesn’t take into consideration that we are in the midst of a battle to get a reported transfer embargo lifted by the EFL. There may be some truth in us having scouted the Brazilian veteran as a possible option earlier in the window, but I don’t believe he’s in the forefront of the minds of Garry Monk and his staff currently.

If we can sign more players over the next month, where should our priorities lie? Let me know in the comments. Personally, I think we need to strengthen at the top end of the pitch after only scoring 38 goals in the league last season.
