Revealed: 71% Of Birmingham Fans Polled Hoping Club Can Seal Deal For England Youth International

|

Garry Monk confirmed at the club’s pre-match press conference last week that we are still looking to sign defensive midfielder Joshua Da Silva.

The club are said to be still in negotiations with Arsenal with the Premier League club entitled compensation for the 19-year-old.

When I asked supporters over the weekend if we should look to bring in the England Under 20 international, a sizeable majority said we should:

Going by the Middlesbrough game, the first-team squad is in need of strengthening but Da Silva would probably be one for the future.

We looked bereft of creativity in the middle of the park against Boro, and while Maikel Kieftenbeld and Cheikh N’Doye could do a decent job in the holding midfield role, we really require a player with ability on the ball to command games.

With the EFL ruling on registering players, it’s not likely we’ll be able to make that much headway this summer in order to bolster our midfield.
