Reported Birmingham Target Makes Key Decision On His Future

|

Scott Bain has signed for Celtic on a permanent deal. The goalkeeper had been linked with a move to us, but he has decided to remain with the Scottish Premiership champions.

The 26-year old has been on loan at Celtic Park from Dundee, but with his contract expiring in the summer, a number of Scottish and English clubs were reportedly interested in the player.

Back in March, the Scottish Sun reported that we had joined Bristol City, Hibernian and Hearts in the race for the stopper, but Celtic have managed to keep hold of him.

Bain has put pen to paper on a four-year deal keeping him at the Scottish club until 2022. Considering that we already have an established number one in David Stockdale, it was surprising to hear us linked with another keeper.

When the link was first made, Garry Monk had only been the post for a couple of weeks so it didn’t ever seem likely we were in for him in the first place.
