Reported Birmingham Target ‘Has A Price Tag Of £8m to £10m’

|

Martyn Waghorn’s asking price seems to be going up and up. Last week TWTD reported that the 28-year-old would cost in the region of £7m before Sheffield United then reportedly made a bid of £5m.

Since then, Blades manager Chris Wilder has been asked about the club’s interest in the Ipswich striker on Sheffield Live radio. He was quoted by the East Anglian Times as saying:

“Well, listen, he’s another one who has a price tag of £8m-£10m and that rules us out straight away.”

I think that safely rules us out of the running too to be honest with you! Waghorn’s 16 goals and 13 assists for the Tractor Boys last season was very impressive, but the excessive price tag is likely to put off any suitors.

We do have money (if we are allowed to spend it) going by our reported bid for Lewis Grabban, but I don’t see any way the club would sanction such a sizeable bid. We desperately need a prolific forward, but I think we can firmly put this rumour to bed now.
