Birmingham City are hoping to complete the signing of Rene Krhin from Granada today. The Slovenian international was in Birmingham over the weekend discussing personal terms and preparing to undergo a medical.

Blues have agreed a £2m fee for the 26 year-old midfielder who has 30 caps for Slovenia.

When asked about the player, manager Gianfranco Zola said- “He is a player we are very interested in. He is an international Slovenian, with good qualities that are good for us”.

Krhin signed for La Liga side Granada in July 2015 having previously played for Inter Milan, and Bologna.
