Young midfielder Callum Reilly kept his head down, didn’t disrupt the team and remained positive in order to get back into the Birmingham side.

Reilly got his chance away at Norwich, where he managed to score and put in a good performance along side David Davis. He has pressed on since then, remaining in the team and seeing an upturn in points return for the club.

Reilly turned 21 last week and chalked up his 50th career appearance in royal blue against Fulham.

Reilly told birminghammail.com

“I saw there might be a chance before Norwich City, the manager put me in the team and we managed to get a result there. Hopefully I can try and stay in there now.”

The player revealed how he chose not to sulk about being left out of the team, he kept his reservations to himself and projected a positive attitude in training.

“You don`t want anyone to see you are upset or annoyed, and it`s easy to get like that.

“But you have to keep reminding yourself that you`re young and I have been fortunate to play the amount of games I have.’

The youngster certainly appreciates what he has already and hopefully he will be given the chance to build on that as Blues take on Bolton at St Andrews this weekend.
