David Davis has revealed that he found out more about Birmingham from former players Roger Johnson and Nathan Redmond.

The midfielder was sourced as a replacement for Tom Adeyemi who left for Cardiff after handing in a transfer request a few days before the start of the season. Lee Clark then went after wolves Man Davis for around £100,000.

Davis, an arsenal fan growing up has revealed that he spent time at St Andrews with his friends who are big Blues fans.

Before signing for the club he asked his football friends what they thought and has revealed both Johnson and Redmond had nothing but positive things to say about the club.

Davis is now focused on played regular football for Birmingham city. At the age of 23 it was the right time for him to leave Wolves and get games under his belt.

Birmingham may have only acquired David Davis due to Kenny Jacket leaving him out of the Wolves team and then telling him honestly that he would not be part of his plans this season. Money was found for the player from the Adeyemi transfer.

It was thought that more money had been paid for Davis given the team he was coming from, his age and his potential. In addition to that Blues had money from Adeyemi leaving and Jordan Mutch making his switch to Premier League QPR.

Now Davis is gearing up for his first league appearance at St Andrews today against Brighton and Hove Albion.

“At this moment it is all about Birmingham City for me.
“It is a chance to play Championship football at a great club.”
