Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp is reportedly interested in bringing former Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane to St. Andrew’s.

Keane, 36, is a free agent after leaving LA Galaxy in December and knows Redknapp well having worked under him at Spurs.

The former Republic of Ireland captain has a wealth of experience having played in the Premier League for the likes of Liverpool, Leeds and West Ham.

He also holds the record for the most caps (146) and goals (68) for his country who he served for 18 years.

Blues fans, would you like to see Robbie Keane at Blues next season? Let us know in the comment section below!

  • Give him a go , he will also bring the young strikers on …and being good at passing can link up with the other striker ..but sign another young striker as well ..

  • He would soak up a lot of the budget in wages but would be worth it with his experience and general attitude on and off the pitch, not to mention knowing that the net is between the sticks and not above or to the side. I see Seb Larsson’s contract is up at Sunderland. Another ex player who would give us some intelligence and drive along with some good set pieces. Still only 31 so a couple of good years left yet.

  • Cannot believe Harry would run with this story. Keane would be a backward move and Harry’s credibility being questioned.

  • Backward step. Personally I don’t think there’s any credence to the story. It’s just another ex-player who happened to get snapped with Harry at WHL the other day.
As for Seb Larsson being mentioned by an above poster. Again…a backward/ sideways step. Slow, can’t take a man on..we’ve always got a similar player in Cotterill.

  • How many more OAP’s are Blues going to be “linked” with? So far we have had Defoe, Crouch, Berbatov (!), Terry and now Keane. If you ask me, it is mostly Agents “flying kites” or lazy journalists trying to fill column inches.

  • To old, Not dune jack smack” since he left Tottenham. Why are we being liked with players in their late 30s? Are we now a pension fund for all the has-been’s come on Harry this is getting silly now I would rather we signed no one than all the golden oldies. I was going to renew my season ticket but not if all we sign are last payday chancers.

  • gazal Seb Larsson’s only 31!!!! still to old to slow backward thinking we need to go forwards not backwards.

  • Only way to escape into the Prem.is pure pacy strikers and dominant Centre Backs. We have neither at present with Adams the exception. Recent banded around names are laughable with the majority of the oldies managing a few games and 5 weeks out with hamstrings, groins etc.HR will imo bring in the necessary with good’uns at the right age.

  • Keane too old and slow? Ibrahimovic is 35 and still doing the biz. Keane was never about pace. I’d trust him more likely to finish than Donaldson or Jutkiewicz.

  • Ijaz H Keane isn’t Ibrahimovic and is not doing the biz. What has he dune since he left Tottenham. ????

  • What about Kenneth Zohore at Cardiff from January Scored 12 goals after coming back from injury . (age 23) the right age plenty of time to improve.
