No need to rub your eyes, it`s all true. Birmingham City have offered former Chelsea and England captain John Terry a deal to sign for the club.

Let’s forget about the money for one second. If Harry Redknapp could actually pull this move off then it would be one of the biggest transfer coups in recent history.

A whole host of clubs all over the world are interested in signing the 36-year-old, including Premier League teams, but with Redknapp at the helm, anything can happen.

The pulling power that this man has is incredible. Let’s not shy away from the fact that Terry would be on an extremely healthy wage for Championship level but Blues are showing some enormous intent.

To even be in a place to offer a player like Terry a deal shows just how far we’ve come since being in a position of having a £5k-a-week wage cap just a couple of seasons ago.

Redknapp is being backed by the Blues board and the early signs are there. The Premier League is the realistic and only target for the club going forward next season and Harry is the man most likely to lead us there.

Terry may be in the twilight years of his career but he’d bring with him a wealth of experience, the know-how of how to win and perhaps his best quality of all – leadership.

Just a few weeks ago, we were staring relegation to League One head on in the face and we`re now being linked with a man that has won everything there is to win at the highest level of English club football.

Add to that the fact that he’s won cups at European level and has 78 England caps to his name, Blues aren’t messing around by any means.

Hold on to your seats, Blues fans. This summer is going to be one full of surprises, full of ambition and full of intent. Harry is making us dream again.
