After cutting short his loan stay with Wycombe Wanderers, my question is why?
Could it be for first team consideration, or maybe to negotiate a more permanent move away in the January transfer window.
Leeds United immediately springs to mind on this. Stockdale is a player that divides opinion with many supporters I know feel he should be our number one. What Monk has done since day one is to do things his way and who can doubt his judgment so far, getting us to a healthy league position with the thinnest of squads with no real additions over two transfer windows.
We shall certainly know over the next few weeks what is to become of Stockdale. A move away from St.Andrews is the likely outcome but if Monk has recalled him to be integrated into the squad then that may be a good move. Touching distance with a play off spot could well be on with two home games to come and Stockdale may be in Monk’s plans after all.
