Talk about making the most of your opportunity.
Jake Clarke-Salter hasn’t been able to tie down a regular spot in the Birmingham City team so far this season, starting just 14 times in the league before this weekend’s game against West Bromwich Albion.
However, with Marc Roberts being one of a number of players missing the game through injury, Clarke-Salter was slotted into the team alongside club captain Harlee Dean, and put in a very good shift, keeping one of the best attacks in the league at bay as we held them to a 0-0 draw.
If you take a look at his stats from the game, he won 100% of his tackles, intercepted the ball once, cleared the ball six times, and had a pass completion percentage of 92%, so he helped in attack as well as in defence.
Should we make Clarke-Salter's deal permanent?
Yes
No
So when the club’s Twitter feed put out this appreciation post on Sunday, it was only right that fans took the time to praise his efforts on the day, with some suggesting that his displays so far this season were good enough to consider us making his loan deal permanent.

Sign him up!

Improved so much after slow start. If the rumours are true about him being valued at £5m it’s an absolute steal and we have to make it permanent.

Quality player, need to do all we can to sign him up

What about you? What did you make of Clarke-Salter’s display?
Yes I would sign him at 5 million, but lets get real here a) has he got bigger ambitions to move on with Chelsea and b) does anybody really expect Blues to be splashing out on players,5 million for Clarke Salter,5 million on Hogan 5 million here 5 million there, cant see it myself but keep dreaming
He is a quality defender. At £5m snap their hands off. If you are reinvesting the Bellingham money this is the sort of player we need to be signing. No doubts Chelsea will have big plans for him and his ambitions will be higher. His stock will only rise. If all else fails loan him again next season.
He’s only valued at 3.75 ml and transfer market.
Whatever is ambitions are they do not match that of Chelsea. As they have told him he will be loaned back out again next season if not moving permanently.
This guy is a class act. Reminds me of Matthew Upson when he was with us. Believe he will be in Chelsea’s first team next year.
Chelsea see him as surplus to requirements they have told him it will be loaned back out next season if he doesn’t move permanently.
Apparently we are only going to get 20 million for Bellingham so do not expect the Cash to be splashed
Don’t believe everything you read. Dortmund are playing mind games with Man United Bellingham has said nothing he has not made any decisions.
