Birmingham City travel to Turf Moor today in search of another 3 points following a fortune favoured beginning to the season. It won’t be an easy task though, promotion favourites Burnley pose a difficult away fixture.

The battle promises to be hard-working affair with both manager’s ensuring their player’s are up for it and organised in order to do so. Sean Dyche wants his team to try and win every game in a bid to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Gary Rowett looks set to take his team up north to nullify their opponent in the hope that one of the more attack-minded players will be able to pick off Burnley. Players such as Donaldson, Toral and Cotterill are likely to remain Blues most dangerous.

In terms of team news, Blues again have a full squad to choose from despite a slight hamstring problem with Michael Morrison. Blues will most likely stick rather than change from the team that beat Reading.

A lot of today’s result depends on just how well Stephen Gleeson and Maikel Kieftenbeld handle the midfield battle. If last week is anything to go by, Gleeson will be well up to the challenge.

Blues top players for me from last week were Gleeson, Cotterill and Grounds. All three will be very important role this week as well, Birmingham certainly didn’t finish well but still managed to get over the line.

Rowett will be very conscious of the array of talent available to Sean Dyche today. Darikwa, Vokes and Mee are to just name a few that will influence the game today.

In my opinion, Birmingham had a better go of it against Reading than Burnley did away at Leeds. And, this one is still a difficult one to call so early in the season. It really is anyone’s guess.

My main man today is Clayton Donaldson, having already bagged an assist this season. I’m hoping he will add a goal to that today and help Blues edge a narrow away win at Turf Moor.
