Birmingham City host Huddersfield Town tomorrow in the Sky Bet Championship. Gary Rowett’s men have picked themselves back up in recent weeks, battling for points. Huddersfield meanwhile are in the mist of a slip down the league.

Blues’ home form is beginning to look something like a respectable team that the fans can be proud of. Much like the more familiar Blues’ teams of the past as some of you may be old enough to remember.

3 wins in their last 6 at home, 2 of those are the most recent. 1-0 over 7th placed Brentford and 1-0 over the seemingly doomed, but profitable, Blackpool.

Huddersfield come into this game below Blues in the table and previous games seem to actually give them an advantage because of that. However, I don’t think they’ll be coming here with that kind of ‘we need to try and get something’ attitude. They’ll play to win and hopefully lose.

The away team are on the back of 2 straight away defeats and heavy ones at that. 3-0 to Charlton, and 4-1 to Brentford. So things are looking down rather that up for them.

You can read much more about Huddersfield here. I took an in depth look at them this past week.

The odds seem to be heavily in Birmingham’s favor. However for that to come to fruition, Blues need to score. And, whilst we’ve been hitting the net each game, it’s not a guarantee.

Blues have scored 1 goal or less in their last 15 at home, and if they slip up at the back this game becomes much more likely to end up a draw than you may think.

Prediction? Blues 2-1

In team news, there are no new injury concerns. Callum Rielly, a consistent bench player for Rowett, has departed to Burton on loan and you may see Mark Duffy or Reece Brown get that spot on the bench.

Other than that I expect much of the same in terms of team selection. Rowett is doing a brilliant job, I’m not only optimistic about the run in, I’m optimistic about the future.
