Birmingham City will be looking to kick on with another home win against Blackpool tonight, albeit without Stephen Gleeson after his red card against Brentford.

Rowett has a perfect opportunity to bring Robert Tesche straight into the team in what needs to be a big 3 points. Tesche is a tackling midfielder who is keen on playing through balls to the attacking players.

His approach to the game should go hand in hand with Davis, and indeed Tesche’s stats actually show that so far this season the German is out tackling the former Wolves man.

Blackpool are without winger Henry Cameron after he was taken off with an injury in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Wigan. This means that Blues could be in line to come up against former Villa player Nathan Delfouneso.

Birmingham’s home form has definitely improved under Gray Rowett but they have struggled to come up with a formula that will beat teams below them in the league.

So if Blues are to unlock what should be a poor Blackpool team they may need to change things up tonight. I would have no issue trusting Davis and Tesche to get box to box in a 4-4-2.

This would Leave Clayton Donaldson and Wes Thomas to attack Blackpool. They both caused Ipswich problems and it was surprising neither was able to get on the scoresheet.

Blackpool are quite frankly absolutely hopeless away from home. They have lost 5/6 and have beaten a team positioned above them just once whilst on their travels. This cannot become 2 tonight!

The oppositions goal threat, if there is one, will come from Davies (5), Madine (2), Orlandi (2). But in terms of overall goal threat Blackpool don’t seem to have varied array of scorers. Perhaps an easier task in picking who to concentrate on.

Blues are very much business as usual going forward, Donaldson still leads the scoring charts with 9. Cotteril is on 5 and Caddis on 4, although he only really threatens from the spot at the moment.

I don’t think both teams will score in this one and there should be comfortable win on the cards tonight, provided the right team scores. I’m going to predict a home win of 2-0. Lets hope it all goes to plan.
