Premiership Freebies In 12 Months?

With a week to go in the 2016/17 summer transfer window, Premier League clubs have players now in their final 12 months on contracts so is there anybody who should be instantly tied down to a new deal by your club, or is there anybody you’d want to take a cheeky punt on in the hope their club decides to cash in – even if it meant dropping a level.

All these players, as of the time Talksport compiled them (if I don’t do the legwork, I can’t take the blame for being wrong!), will be free agents come the end of the 2016/17 campaign and there are some big names and big experience amongst them who could clearly do a job for somebody in the Premier League still – it just depends on where they end up come next summer.

So with the caveat of not believing any of these have signed new deals yet, announced early retirement or anything like that, are there any you’d like to line up in the shirt for September?

(Any glaring errors feel free to point out in article comments!)

Some young potentials for the future – experienced internationals maybe ready for one final challenge and another opportunity to write themselves into folklore?

Or alternatively are there any you would avoid with somebody else’s bargepole!
