The line of players leaving St Andrews does not look like ending very soon with Sunderland and Bolton expressing an interest for midfielder Barry Ferguson.

Ferguson has been linked with a move away from the Midlands since Blues suffered relegation at the end of last season, and it is also believed that the player wants to move up north to be nearer his family.

Blackpool were the club initially linked with the 33 year old but now it turns out that Bolton and Sunderland could be willing to offer him a Premier League lifeline.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle is looking to bolster his midfield and sees Ferguson as the ideal candidate.

But Sunderland, who have signed almost a completely new team are also on the trail, and should Ferguson move there he would once again team up with Blues team mate Craig Gardner.
