Birmingham are to face a battle to keep their young talent at the club.

It can be revealed that ‘quite a few’ Premier League clubs sent their scouts to The Den on Tuesday night in order to view some of Birmingham’s academy graduates.

It is mostly likely they were hoping to get a viewing of young Demarai Gray, but since he failed his fitness test another youngster stepped in and did well.

Koby Arthur may well have been the subject of many of those scouts reports also. The youngster, who can play up front, behind the strikers or on the wings, has recently returned from a storming loan spell at Cheltenham.

Premier League clubs are well aware of Birmingham’s academy, and to top it off they are also well aware that youngster’s from Birmingham are often cheaper than elsewhere.

Birmingham have began to resist bigger clubs attempting to pick off it’s talent. Lee Clark has also expressed his desire to keep the young players together at the club.

January will be here before we know it and it now looks inevitable that these hot prospects are to the the subject of a transfer saga.
