Power Struggle Sees Pannu Sacked

Peter Pannu has been removed as CEO and managing director as BIHL after the board released a statement saying it would be ‘inappropriate’ for him to continue.

The move comes after Peter Pannu had a sensational outburst via the Often Partisan site where he blasted the current BIHL regime for failing to sell the club.

He also posted accusations that Blues were about to be hit by a transfer embargo. Which as we saw today, they were not.

The vote to remove Pannu was indeed split 4-3 and was obviously very close. And he will remain as a director at BIHL and will be up for re-election on December 23 at the annual AGM.

It is becoming clear that Pannu is having his position weakened in Hong Kong and that he can no longer rely on being Carson Yeung’s right hand man.

With that being said, as confirmed by OP, Yeung still has considerable voting rights as 28% percent owner of BIHL. He can use his weight to help keep Pannu in the frame.

How likely that is would only be speculative until the vote actually happens.

What we do know is there are significant factions within BIHL that do not want Pannu in any executive role and that they are willing to vote against him and publicly distance themselves from him.

All is not right at BIHL and lets just hope that who ever comes out on top does not do anything to negatively impact on the job Mr Panos is doing in Birmingham.

Often Partisan has invited Pannu to respond to the current events through his website, but something tells me Mr Pannu is staying away from the internet for the time being.
