Poll: Would Brazilian Veteran Be A Priority For Birmingham If Transfer Embargo is Lifted?

|

HITC reported a few days ago that we are one of three clubs interested in signing Ricardinho from Oxford United.

Wigan and Rotherham are also said to be looking at the Brazilian veteran. Last season, the left-back did have a pretty good season in League One with three goals and five assists in 36 appearances.

However, at 33 years of age, and the fact that we have already recruited Kristian Pedersen this summer, I’m not sure whether we’d be interested in signing the player.

We have let Cheick Keita leave on loan, but the future of Jonathan Grounds is very much up in the air. He has reportedly been transfer listed, but so far we haven’t seen any bids for him. With the additional complication of the transfer embargo, it seems that our no.3 could well be staying.

Even if he does leave, would signing Ricardinho be at the top of our agenda? We have a number of other positions we need to strengthen, including a goalkeeper, a striker and a creative midfielder. With Maxime Colin having ably covered on the left-hand side last season, I do think Garry Monk’s priorities would lie elsewhere if the transfer ban is lifted

Do you think we should go after the left back if Grounds does leave? Let me know in the poll:
