Player of the Season – Part Two

It doesn`t seem right talking about a player of the season when we`re in such a state in regards to our league position but here it goes anyway.

There aren`t too many names to pick from but for me one player has shone out above the rest and been our most consistent player over the course of this season.

Player of the Season – David Davis

I`m guessing that this man is most people`s Player of the Season at Blues and I can understand why.

Week in week out, Davis is a player that gives his all for the team and I have seen huge improvements in his game after his hard work in pre-season.

We`re now on our third manager of the season now and Davis is likely to have been one of the first names on the team sheet for each one of those in charge.

In the first half of the season, he was asked by Gary Rowett to play in a wide role and, although it`s not his natural position, he got on with the job and performed very well there.

But, with his physicality and drive, there`s no doubt that his best position is in the centre of midfield where he can be that presence and win those battles in the middle of the park.

He has contributed with four goals and one assist this season and two of those goals were extra special.

Davis has made himself a hero amongst Blues fans with his goals and celebrations against local rivals Aston Villa and Wolves. Those are two great moments that we will take as a positive from this season and remember for a while.

Being a local lad, he always turns up for those big games and he knows what it means to the fans. But, he has also performed to a high level in pretty much every game this campaign which is why he is my choice as Player of the Season.
