Perfect Fit – 67% Of Fans Polled Think Birmingham Should Take A Chance On Exciting 17 Year Old

|

38 goals in 46 league games last season is a statistic that Garry Monk will want to put right as he heads into his first full campaign as manager, but so far, there has been little progress in signing players who could improve our record.

A £5m bid for Lewis Grabban certainly showed the club’s intentions to bring in somebody to help us up front, but with three weeks left until the transfer window closes, we are yet to sign a striker or an attacking midfielder.

Despite talk of an embargo, it seems we are still persevering with making bids for players. One player I thought we could consider is Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi. The U17 World Cup winner could be available on a loan deal so I asked fans about what they think of signing the 17-year-old. Two-thirds think he would be a good addition:

The teenager is certainly a raw talent, and I understand there would be reservations with bringing in someone who is untested at this level, but he is someone who I believe could make waves in the Championship.

He can play out on the wings or as an attacking midfielder, and with pace to burn he could offer us a potent threat in the attacking third. Whether we could beat others to his signature, we shall see, but he would certainly help us improve in front of goal.
