Birmingham City’s Director, Panos Pavlakis, has confirmed on Twitter today that BIHL’s main priority is to strengthen the playing team at the football club.

The statement comes after supporters expressed concern that the company behind the proposed takeover of BCFC had affiliations with Yeung and previous directors of BIHL, prior to Ernest and Young taking over.

Pavlakis has put in writing that Trillion Trophy Asia Limited are in no way affiliated with any previous directors of the holding company and described the takeover as a ‘fresh start’ for the club.

‘We are working on many different fronts in both [the] UK and [in] HK, with the priority already to strengthen the team’ The leading Director said.

It seems pretty clear that Pavlakis is confident that this takeover will indeed happen and that they are already involved in trying to improve the club’s fortunes on the pitch.

We attempted to ask when this might materialise into some incoming transfers, however Panos did not comment on any responses he received on the website.

What is clear is that Birmingham return for pre-season training on Monday and there is no Goalkeeper in sight, a fact that is worrying many fans.

Mr Pavlakis still has a very good track record with the fans, his reputation for actually responding to fans concerns via his Twitter account and through the club has gone a long way to restoring the relationship between the board and its supporters.

Personally I do not want to see rushed signings coming in if they aren’t going to improve the squad, but on the other hand if we do not act soon the club runs the risk of having to take rushed signings near the start of the season.

Are transfers being held up whilst the club waits for funding? and if so, why weren’t the fans told before the summer?
