Panic. Naivety. Lacking. Three words I’d use to describe Blues’ defeat against Wolves this afternoon.

Let’s start with panic. After taking a one goal lead into half time, Wolves would always come out in the second fired up. When the early equaliser came, Blues panicked. We seemed incapable of making a simple three yard pass and we couldn’t handle Wolves’ hunger. Not one Blues player wanted the ball.

Naivety. I’m not one to criticise Gary Rowett but I must question some of his decisions today. We’ve just gone 2-1 down and his answer was to take Che Adams off  (I don’t know if he was injured or…) and bring Robert Tesche, a defensive midfielder, on. And then Jack Storer came on and showed his naviety by getting himself sent off. And he only has himself to blame.

Lacking. Blues are severley lacking quality, especially in midfield. David Davis is OK at running around snapping at ankles but he cannot pass a ball. Stephen Gleeson is OK at distributing the ball at times but goes missing. Tesche is much of a muchness. Without Maikel Kieftenbeld, Blues have no drive in the middle and without Diego Fabbrini, we’ve got no link up play and no outlet.

Wolves were by far the better side and deserved the win. It was men against boys.
