Painter Set For Switch

Marcos Painter has today agreed to join Swansea City on a one month loan.

The 20 year old Republic of Ireland youth international is desperate to get some first team action under his belt and has found chances very limited at the club so far.

Speaking to the official site he said:

‘I could easily have chosen Port Vale as that would have been the nearest club to Birmingham.

‘But Swansea are in the play-off positions and I want to play at the highest level possible.

‘I understand that they play in a new stadium and they have very passionate fans.

‘Hopefully this move will give me a chance to play some league games because that’s what I really need at this stage of my career.

‘Playing reserve team football is okay for fitness but there’s nothing better than playing in a proper first team match on a Saturday afternoon.’
