Packwood Undergoes Leg Operation.

Birmingham teenager Will Packwood has undergone a successful operation on his leg after suffering a break in the game against Leeds on Saturday.

The young American suffered a broken fibula and tibia after coming worst off in an accidental collision with Luciano Becchio at Elland Road.

Birmingham’s official website released a statement that read: ‘Will was successfully operated on in Leeds General Infirmary on Sunday morning and it is hoped he will be transferred to Spire Little Aston Hospital in Sutton Coldfield tomorrow (Monday) afternoon to begin his recovery.

‘The initial indication is that Packwood is likely to be sidelined for at least nine months.’

Since the incident, the teenager has received many messages from fans all over the globe and he appreciates their kind words.

He said via Twitter: ‘Thank you to everybody for all the support I’ve received! It means so much to me to have you all behind me.’
