With transfer deadline day fast approaching and Birmingham City still in the market for at least one, possibly two new players, there has to be the discussion about which players could potentially leave the club in the next few days.

Prior to the 3-0 win at the weekend, Blues boss Gary Rowett hinted at a player being ‘sacrificed’ and one or two more being allowed to leave the club in order for him to bring players in.

With James Vaughan already being allowed to leave, the wage budget has already been boosted and should more exit St.Andrews, there could be a healthy kitty for Rowett to spend.

However, although Rowett has hinted at departures, there haven’t been any names mentioned but here are the three players who I think could leave St.Andrews before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

1. VIV SOLOMON-OTABOR.

As much as Rowett and Blues will be desperate to hold on to the young winger, if a Premier League club comes sniffing, which they already have believe me, the club might not be able to resist.

With the likes of Everton’s scouts reportedly having watched Solomon-Otabor during pre-season, if they come in with a generous offer for him, and allow him to come back on loan, would Blues really be able to resist the offer? In my opinion, no, I don’t think they would be able to.

To me, VSO is well behind the likes of Jacques Maghoma and even new signing Greg Stewart so if a bid in the region of £4 million came in for him then I would personally let him go.

2. DAVID COTTERILL.

A player who divides opinions in my view and rightly so because he is very inconsistent and I honestly wouldn’t rule out Rowett allowing him to leave.

As I understand, things aren’t all that cosy with Cotterill and Blues at the moment so if the right bid came in for him, around £1 million, then I think he will leave the club.

Yes, I don’t think we would be able to find a better deliverer of the ball in our price range, but if he is causing a rift in the squad then he has to go.

3. NICOLAI BROCK-MADSEN.

Poor Brock-Madsen. It really hasn’t worked out for him at Blues really has it. Unfortunately for him, the emergence of Jack Storer and the capture of Che Adams has pushed him even further down the line and I think a move away from the club is a must.

I don’t think he will leave on a permanent deal but I think a loan move could be a way out for the young striker.

Personally, I don’t think Rowett will be able to guarente him much first team football this season so if a League One or Two club comes in for him the he could be on his way out for the season.
