Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray left St Andrews a pretty angry man after his side was hammered 3-0 by Birmingham City.
Nikola Zigic, Marlon King and Keith Fahey were all on the scoresheet as Blues put in one of their better displays of the season which gives their chances of reaching a play-off spot at the end of the season a massive boost.
The Boro manager certainly expected better from his side and pointed to the poor defending that his side were guilty of.
Mowbray said: ‘We fell short our usual standard and gifted them the first two goals from two simple balls into the box. We simply didn’t defend well enough on the day.
‘Goals change games and change beliefs. That is what happened against Birmingham. We had one or two good opportunities in front of goal but our finishing was not good enough on the day.
‘Obviously we are generally disappointed as usually we are more resilient and better than what we showed against Birmingham. We’ve now had two defeats and after that scenario it is hard to question whether we we are going to stay in our current position.”
