Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson saw his side go down 1-0 at St Andrews on Saturday against Birmingham and insisted his side could surge up the table.
The defeat left Posh at the bottom of the table and it was their fourth straight defeat of the season.
A freak own goal from goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik in the 29th minute gave Blues all the points who were themselves looking for their first win of the season.
Ferguson told the Peterborough Telegraph: “It`s a disappointing defeat for sure, but I saw more than enough to convince me that we will soon start winning games.
“Don`t get me wrong, I`m sick of losing and I don`t want people to tell me we played well and we were unlucky, but if we play like we did in the second-half of this game we will soon be moving in the right direction.
“I wasn`t that happy with the first-half. We played at Birmingham`s tempo which was too slow for us, but it seemed like it was a real nervous place today.
“The players were nervous and so were the crowd. I`ve been here when it`s been rocking and they really get behind their team, but it was tense for this game.
“We were much the better team after the break. We speeded the game up and we caused them no end of problems.
