Derby manager Nigel Clough was delighted that his side pulled back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at St Andrews.

And he singled out Steven Davies for special praise for his part in the amazing comeback late in the game.

Derby looked to be heading for their fourth defeat on the bounce, but Davies, the man who fractured his skull last October, headed home to make it 2-1.

The serious head injury very nearly ended the career of Davies, who has a plate in his head. This was his first start since the injury and Clough couldn`t have asked for anything more.

He said: ‘It was great to see him back in action. We took our time with him and it was good to to see him score such a good goal.

‘He has taken his time as he has had some injures over the last four years. But he does bounce back and he does get goals as he proved against Birmingham.’
