Luke Turner looks ahead to the final game of the season tomorrow…

Birmingham City`s season comes to a close tomorrow as they head to Wales to take on Cardiff City.

Both teams are left with nothing but pride and league positions to play for with Blues looking to maintain their 9th place position and better last seasons points tally of 63.

Cardiff took their fight for the play-offs a bit further than Blues but their hopes were eventually ended last week where they were defeated by Sheffield Wednesday.

The game will no doubt have that end of season feel and I don’t really expect the intensity to be as high as it might’ve been had this game taken place a few weeks back.

There will most likely be some changes made by the two managers as they look to give opportunities to some fringe players and get the youngsters some crucial game time.

In Blues` case, Gary Rowett has hinted that he may give starts to Charlee Adams and Viv Solomon-Otabor so these are two players who will be looking to impress.

With Solomon-Otabor`s pace and skill down the wing, Blues could certainly create a few chances by getting the ball out to him and letting him show what he can do.

We haven’t seen much of Adam`s this season as we might’ve expected from what Rowett said this time last season. He has been talked about but not really been given a chance as of yet.

Tomorrow`s game will still be a big test for him as he will be up against some quality midfielders with the likes of Peter Whittingham having Premier League experience.

The nature of the game could leave plenty of gaps for players to exploit and hopefully we will see plenty of goal-mouth action.

Cardiff do have players who can light this game up so Blues will have to be wary when defending against the likes of Craig Noone, Sammy Ameobi and Anthony Pilkington.

It could be the last chance for some of our players to convince Rowett that they are the ones that can help the club move forward so there no one should be taking a back seat in this fixture.

Rowett`s side will be backed by another sold out away end so hopefully the players can treat them to a good performance and three points to end the season on a high.
