Two away games in three days and Blues have taken two points. It would have been six but for wasting several clear openings.

The point at Preston last night will only be classed as a ‘good point` if Blues follow it up with a win on home soil against Cardiff on Friday evening. Blues have been awful at St. Andrew`s of late and need to escape this home rut.

At Deepdale last night, Blues, particularly Demarai Gray, were guilty of squandering match winning opportunities. No end product has been the mainstay of Blues` season.

As confirmed in a previous article on this site, Gray`s contribution has been one goal and one assist from his 23 appearances this season so far. But the 19 year-old has had the most shots of any Blues player. This isn`t an anti-Gray article; I`m simply backing up my point that Blues are wasteful in the final third.

On a more positive note, the two performances on the road have been decent. Gary Rowett must now try and replicate that in B9.

Cardiff will arrive in the second city in 7th place, three points ahead of Blues. The Welshmen have only lost two of their last 13 games.

So we go again. No rest for the wicked.
