Opinion: Transfer business done already?

With the loan window opening yesterday (9th), many Blues fans are still hoping to see some activity with players coming into St.Andrews.

However, personally I don’t think that this will be the case. If we are lucky, we may see one more player come through the door, perhaps a striker to make up for the fact that we only now have two, but other than that I don’t think it will happen.

Following the arrival of free agent Shane Lowry on Tuesday, manager Gary Rowett has filled the space that he was looking to fill and personally I think he will only move in the market if there are any injuries to players.

Saying that though, as Rowett says himself, if the right player becomes available, the club will move for them and wait for answers.

Before Lowry was announced, names like former loanee’s Dan Burn and Kyle Bartley were flying around but those now seem to be very far wide of the mark.

I have seen some fans slate the arrival of Lowry but from what I have seen of him, he looks like he could be very good cover for us should anything happen to Michael Morrison or Jonathan Spector.

Moving away from the defensive area of the team, I think if we did see some movement, we may see a striker come in, possibly from a Premier League side.

The likes of Fraizer Campbell, Will Keane and Victor Anichebe could all be possibilities but you would have to look at how we would structure a move for those type of players and I just don’t think we would be able to accommodate them.

However, there could be some possible outgoings with a few players leaving on short term loan deals.

For me, I think the likes of Reece Brown, Charlee Adams and Wes Harding would all benefit from moves out on loan and I think they may all happen over the course of the next few weeks.

Don’t be surprised if we see one of them join Rowett’s former side Burton Albion. I would expect them all to join either League One or League Two sides because that is where they will pick up the best experience possible as well as game time.

Blues fans, do you agree with me? Do you think our transfer business is done? If not, who would you like to see being brought into the squad? Let us know in the comment section down below!
