Following the recent news that Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett is avidly looking to bring in another striker, I thought it would be a good idea to highlight three possible players that could make a difference to our side.

One of the three is currently already out on loan but I would never rule out the possibility of his parent club recalling him and sending him out to a club at a higher level.

That player who I am talking about is Adam Armstrong. The Newcastle United striker is currently playing for League One side Coventry City, but I believe he could make the step up to the Championship.

In the third tier of English football, Armstrong has found the back of the net 12 times in 14 appearances for the Sky Blues. That sort of form is the sign of a natural goal scorer.

Even though Clayton Donaldson does a fantastic job for us up front, as did Nicolai Brock-Madsen in Monday’s behind closed doors game against Peterborough United, I still think that the addition of Armstrong would be one that could further our bid for a play off spot.

At the moment, the 18 year old is on a season long loan and it wouldn’t be possible to bring him in until January but we can always keep an eye on that one.

The second striker who I think the Blues boss should look to bring in is Dwight Gayle. The Crystal Palace striker is currently being deemed surplus requirements and a move for 26 year old wouldn’t be a bad shout.

Having only made 54 first team appearances for the Eagles, I think if Rowett moved for the former Peterborough striker, it would be a move that would prove to be a fruitful one.

With the pedigree of an Arsenal academy youngster, it is clear for all to see that wherever Gayle goes, goals follow him, and if he did make the move to the Midlands, all Blues fans would be hoping that the same things happens here.

The final striker that I think would do well for us is another person who is on the books at Palace, Patrick Bamford.

On loan from Premier League champions Chelsea, everybody knows how well Bamford does at Championship level after two impressive seasons with Middlesbrough.

During his time at the Riverside, the England under 21 international scored 17 goals in nearly 40 appearances, and something like that would be most welcome at the Blues.

The 22 year old has only played three times for Palace so far this season and with first team chances being limited, could it be time for Chelsea to send him back to the level he belongs, but this time with Blues?

Out of the three striker I have mentioned, for me, Gayle has to be the most likely contender as he is the one out of the trio that is seeking a move away from his parent club.

A loan move to Blues would benefit him greatly and with Rowett looking to bring in a striker, a move for Gayle could be just round the corner.

Blues fans, would you like to see one of the three players I have mentioned join our club? Who would you like to see being brought in? Let us know in the comment section down below!
