As the news filtered through yesterday morning that Harry Redknapp had been appointed as the new Birmingham City manager following the resignation of Gianfranco Zola, although many were surprised by this, there was a sense of optimism within the blues fans that this could be the appointment to steer us clear from relegation.

Redknapp’s appointment will also galvanise the players and will certainly see an end to any dressing room unrest that might have been caused by the lack of points picked up during Zola’s reign at St.Andrews.

Down below are three players that I believe Redknapp will love having at his disposal during his time at B9.

PAUL ROBINSON.

A popular choice with fans to take the managerial role on a temporary basis, Redknapp will no doubt be using Robbo for his experience, passion and leadership.

He is very popular with both players and fans and Redknapp will be looking for a leader to help us preserve our Championship status and Robbo definiely fits the bill.

DAVID DAVIS.

As you may have seen from Redknapp’s previous clubs, there has always been the central midfielder who doesn’t stop running, a hard tackler and shows good strength both on and off the ball.

Look no further than Davis. Although he has been slightly non-existent in the past few games, Davis will be relishing Sunday’s derby against local rivals Aston Villa and passion is one thing that he is not short of.

Redknapp will be pleased to see Davis putting himself about and showing what it really means to wear the royal blue.

CHE ADAMS.

One of our most consistent players throughout the past couple of weeks.

Adams has made the number 10 position his own and it allows him the freedom to take defenders on using his pace and skill as well as providing attacking support to Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Redknapp will be impressed with Adams’ work ethic and his never say die attitude and should Redknapp stay in charge next season, I believe Adams will play a crucial role in his team.

Blues fans, do you think Harry Redknapp will look to utilise Paul Robinson, David Davis and Che Adams in his three games in charge? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
