In order for a club`s ground to become a fortress, a couple of things need to occur.

Firstly, you need to have a squad capable of winning football matches.

Check.

Secondly, you need a manager who can teach his technique and philosophy to ensure the success of that squad.

Check.

Thirdly, as a club, you have to maintain a certain loyalty to the ones who matter most; the fans. Supporters are the 12th man, the voice of the club, the ones who showcase their passion of the game with laughter, tears, songs, chants, cheers, and jeers.

Blues fans over the years have exhibited all of those actions, whether through winning a cup final at Wembley or having ‘Sir’ Paul Caddis save us from relegation certainty away at Bolton Wanderers in the dying seconds.

Then there is the legend of the rise of Gary Rowett and the subsequent failed experiment of Gianfranco Zola.

We have seen it all.

The question now remains toward the end of July: What Comes Next? (cue the Hamilton song of the same name).

Birmingham City have released ticket information concerning the EFL
Championship home opening fixture against Bristol City on the 12th of August.

Starting Wednesday, July 19th, tickets will be available for purchase by phone, online, and directly at the St. Andrew`s ticket office.

The cost of an adult ticket for the opener for the average fan is £25. To me, that seems a little steep for an opening match.

Home openers are meant to set the tone for the season and show how much the stadium and fans can have an effect on the atmosphere.

A packed St. Andrew`s yields an electric energy that can lift the players and give them the extra motivation to try and win.

We saw that when Huddersfield Town came to a stadium with over 29,000 seats filled and left with no points following a 2-0 loss.

It is a tried and trusted formula.

If you want to fill a stadium week in and out, set a reasonable price for seats. That will draw a bigger crowd, and potentially help the team to more home victories.

It`s true, Rome wasn`t built in a day, but fortress St. Andrew`s can be in a few of them.

Blues fans, do you agree with what Will is saying about St.Andrew’s? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
