In recent weeks, money in the footballing industry has been in the headlines more than it ever has been before, so Blues have picked a good time to announce this news.

Earlier today, Birmingham City Football Club announced that they would be freezing their season ticket prices for the 2016/2017 campaign no matter what league we are in.

The most expensive ticket for an adult sitting outside of Club Class is £439 which is a fantastic price when you think about it, especially if Blues were promoted to the Premier League via the play-off’s.

When you think about how much other club’s in both the Championship and the Premier League are charging then Blues are offering a fairly good rate, especially as they have continued the theme of offering under 11’s free season tickets with a full paying adult.

I for one think that Blues have done the right thing in offering fans the same ticket price for this season because it gives fans an incentive to come back next year and lets face it, who knows what is going to happen between now and May!

When you look at the recent debate that went on up at Liverpool, which has obviously now been resolved, our ticket prices look like scrap change compared to what they were going to ask fans to pay.

As I have always said, football without fans is nothing, and you have to admit to yourselves as well, football wouldn’t be the huge global sport it is without the fans backing each individual team week after week.

As well as offering the reduced prices for Blues fans, the club have also offered several chances to win rewards should they renew their tickets before a certain time.

The prizes range from winning a padded seat in place of your normal seat, £50 worth of Blues loyalty points and a free meal at every home game.

I think by offering these prizes up for Blues fans, more people will be interested in coming back to St.Andrews and not just for footballing reasons.

Blues fans, will you be renewing ahead of the new season? How impressed are you with the price freeze? Let us know in the comment section down below!
