Although the score line suggests otherwise, Blues were comfortable against MK Dons yesterday. Arguably, the performance warranted more than a one goal victory in what was Blues` best display at St. Andrew`s for some time.

The performance marked the return of Clayton Donaldson. Coincidence or not?

The Don has been side-lined since November after returning crocked from international duty with Jamaica. Yesterday`s expansive, fluent display summarised the importance of the 31 year-old.

Not only does Donaldson score goals, he creates space, holds the ball up and chips in with vital assists. Admittedly, the sitter he missed yesterday may go down as miss of the season, but his overall performance was top notch.

Jon Toral thrives when played behind the former Brentford man and Blues` wingers, Jacques Maghoma and Viv Solomon-Otabor, had more of an impact.

They say one man can`t make a team, which is true. But in Donaldson`s case, one man can drastically improve a team.
