Following Tuesday nights disappointing draw away at Wigan Athletic, Birmingham City return to St.Andrews this weekend when they host local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the first big Midlands derby of the season.

The two clubs have enjoyed fairly even starts to the 2016/17 Championship season, both picking up five points from their opening three games, two draws and a win, so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top as Blues look to clinch their first win against the Gold and Black army in three games.

Wolves, who are under new management and ownership, have brought in plenty of talent in the last few weeks which will make them hard to play against as they will be very unpredictable, but I am sure Gary Rowett will have a game plan for their visit to B9.

Down below is the side that I think the Blues manager will send out on Saturday and as you will be able to see, there are a couple of changes to the side that has played the previous two games…

GK: Kuszczak
RB: Caddis
CB: Shotton
CB: Morrison
LB: Grounds
CDM: Gleeson
CDM: Davis
RAM: Cotterill
CAM: Fabbrini
LAM: Maghoma
ST: Adams

Substitutes: Legzdins, Spector, Kieftenbeld, Tesche, Stewart, Solomon-Otabor, Donaldson.

As you can see above, I have made a change to the formation as well as a few player changes as I think Rowett will look to freshen up the side that has picked up four points in the last two league games.

Firstly, I believe that Rowett will revert back to the 4-2-3-1 formation that we are so used to seeing at home because I think that will counteract the way Wolves play against us.

I have also put Paul Caddis and Diego Fabbrini back in the starting XI as well as giving £2 million man Che Adams his first start in a Birmingham City shirt.

As hard as it is to drop Clayton Donaldson, I believe it will be more interesting to see how Wolves cope against the likes of Fabbrini and Adams, who are yet to work together on the pitch.

Blues fans, do you agree with the line-up that has been predicted? Will Gary Rowett give Che Adams his first start at home against local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
