On Tuesday night, Birmingham City take part in a double-headed fixture which sees Gary Rowett split the squad in half, spending one team to Walsall and the other to Shrewsbury Town.

Following another strong performance on Saturday afternoon against Forest Green Rovers, a game Blues won 3-0 thanks to goals from Michael Morrison, Jack Storer and Diego Fabbrini, it will now be interesting to see how they perform against higher opposition.

Walsall, who unfortunately lost in the play-off semi-finals against Barnsley last season, host Blues at the Banks’ stadium and despite losing some of their best players already this transfer window, they will provide a much tougher test than Solihull Moors and Forest Green have in our first two preseason friendlies.

Down below is who I think will be playing in the game against the League One side, but only the starting XI….

GK: Kuszczak
RB: Cogley
CB: Shotton
CB: Morrison
LB: Grounds
CDM: Davis
CDM: Gleeson
RAM: Solomon-Otabor
CAM: Fabbrini
LAM: Maghoma
ST: Vaughan

As you can see, although the side may not be the strongest one that Rowett is able to field, I think he may mix things up slightly, but you never know, he could send a really strong team to one game and a weaker side to the other one.

Blues fans, what do you make of the team that has been predicted to face Walsall? Would this be a team that could beat the League One side? Let us know in the comment section down below!
