Opinion: Predicted line up Vs. Sheffield Wednesday

Birmingham City head into Wednesday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday at St.Andrew’s looking to build on an encouraging performance that was put in against Derby County on Saturday.

It was safe to say that Blues out did former manager Gary Rowett at his own game at the weekend and there were similar things that I noticed about Lee Carsley’s tactics that were similar to when the now Rams boss Rowett was in charge.

In his first game in charge of the club, Rowett oversaw a 0-0 draw with local rival Wolverhampton Wanderers and solidified things up for Blues, something which Carsley has also done, but he achieved a 1-1 draw rather than a stalemate.

Then Rowett had a midweek game to contest with, as Blues took on Watford, a game in which Clayton Donaldson scored a double to secure Rowett’s first win in charge of Blues.

Carsley now faces a midweek game against Wednesday and he will be hoping that the Blues fans can back the team into winning only their second league game of the new season.

With no new injury concerns heading into the game, here is my predicted line up, along with the substitutes bench…

GK: Kuszczak

RB: Nsue
CB: Morrison
CB: Dean
LB: Colin

CDM: Gardner
CDM: Ndoye

RAM: Maghoma
CAM: Vassell
LAM: Boga

ST: Jutkiewicz

Substitutes: Trueman, Grounds, Roberts, Kieftenbeld, Cotterill, Davis, Gallagher.
