Birmingham City are preparing to travel down to London for the second time in a week as they Reading this weekend.

Two defeats on the bounce have all but ended Gary Rowett’s hopes of a top six finish and the Blues boss has now insisted that his side must play for pride and not let the season fizzle out before their very own eyes.

Reading have been very inconsistent all season but their home form has been very impressive to say the least. Their last defeat at the Madejski in the league came back on the 3rd of December and Blues will be looking to do what they did last season and take all three points away from the Royals ground.

The side that Rowett put out on Tuesday night against Brighton was a refreshing one but there were some players who I felt didn’t really perform that well so I have made some changes to this weeks starting XI.

Down below is the side that I would send out to face Brian McDermott’s side as well as the substitutes bench.

GK: Kuszczak
RB: Caddis
CB: Morrison
CB: Spector
LB: Grounds
CDM: Kieftenbeld
CDM: Gleeson
RAM: Cotterill
CAM: Toral
LAM: Maghoma
ST: Lafferty

Substitutes: Legzdins, Shotton, Davis, Fabbrini, Vaughan, Buckley, Donaldson.

As you can see, I have made one change to the side that lost 2-1 on Tuesday night by swapping Clayton Donaldson and David Cotterill around.

By doing that, I have pushed Jacques Maghoma back to his favoured left hand side because I think that is where he plays his best football.

Blues fans, do you agree with the change that has been made? Is this a team that you would be happy to send out if you were manager? Let us know in the comment section down below!
