On Tuesday night Birmingham City welcome League One side Oxford United to St.Andrews in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

Blues will be hoping to get their first win on the season against the newly promoted side but it is expected that manager Gary Rowett will field a slightly weakened side for this cup fixture.

United began their time in League One with a 1-1 draw on Saturday with former Blues striker Wes Thomas finding the net just after the half hour mark.

There are likely to be several changes to the side which drew 0-0 against Cardiff City at the weekend with youngsters such as Jack Storer, Reece Brown and maybe even Josh Cogley all getting the nod.

Down below is the side that I think Rowett will field for this Capital One Cup game…

GK: Legzdins
RB: Cogley
CB: Robinson
CB: Morrison
LB: Caddis
CDM: Tesche
CDM: Brown
RAM: Solomon-Otabor
CAM: Storer
LAM: Shinnie
ST: Vaughan

Substitutes: Trueman, Shotton, Grounds, Kieftenbeld, Maghoma, Fabbrini, Donaldson.

As you can see, I have made 10 changes to the side that drew at the weekend. Although Rowett may not go over the top with the changes, I can see the majority of these coming into play, especially the likes of Storer, Brown and Adam Legzdins.

Blues fans, what do you make of the side that has been predicted? Let us know in the comment section down below!
