On Sunday afternoon, Birmingham City will head north of the border to take on Scottish Cup champions Hibernian in their fifth proper preseason friendly.

Blues boss Gary Rowett recently told the official website that from this game on, it is about looking ahead to playing Cardiff City at St.Andrews on August 6th in the Sky Bet Championship opener.

Therefore, the games that Blues now face, with three more to follow the Hibs game, the manager will be looking to pick his strongest side and then see what needs ironing out.

Blues announced the squad that they would be taking to Scotland, with Maikel Kieftenbeld and Charlee Adams both missing out due to injury, and Nicolai Brock-Madsen being left at home due to the fact he will be heading to the Olympic Games at some point next week.

The three impressive youngsters, Josh Cogley, Koby Arthur and Reece Brown, have both been included in the squad, but it is unlikely that the pair will get as many minutes as they have done in the past week.

Down below is the side that I think Rowett will put out against the Scottish side…

GK: Kuszczak
RB: Caddis
CB: Morrison
CB: Shotton
LB: Grounds
CDM: Tesche
CDM: Gleeson
RAM: Solomon-Otabor
CAM: Fabbrini
LAM: Maghoma
ST: Donaldson

Substitutes: Legzdins, Cogley, Robinson, Spector, Arthur, Davis, Brown, Shinnie, Vaughan.

As you can see, out of the 20-man squad that Blues are taking, I believe I have picked what is possibly our strongest XI based on what is at the disposal of the manager.

Of course, when the likes of Kieftenbeld and David Cotterill come back into the squad, then the starting line up will be a little bit different.

Blues fans, do you agree that the side that has been predicted is the strongest we have seen so far this preseason? Let us know in the comment section down below!
