Opinion: Predicted line up Vs. Fulham

Birmingham City welcome relegation threatened Fulham to St.Andrews this weekend in what could be a crucial fixture for both teams.

After losing at home to Bristol City last week, former Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic saw his side slip to within a point of the relegation zone and if Rotherham and the MK Dons pick up points this weekend and the Cottagers lose to Blues then they will find themselves in the bottom three.

Blues on the other hand picked up what could turn out to be a valuable point against local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, but even if they win the game in hand they are still going to be a point behind sixth place Sheffield Wednesday, and that can only be said if we match their results all the way.

Our play-off rivals, the Owls, Ipswich Town and Cardiff City all face relatively comfortable opponents in the form of Rotherham United, Reading and Charlton Athletic but lets remember, this is the Championship and anything can happen!

In the last few games, Blues haven’t scored many goals and with the visitors being one of the highest scorers in the division, it could come down to who can keep a clean sheet for the longest and with Blues having the third best clean sheet ration in the league, I will be backing us for the win.

Down below is the team that I would send out on Saturday to face Jokanovics’ side along with the substitutes…

GK: Kuszczak
RB: Caddis
CB: Morrison
CB: Spector
LB: Grounds
CDM: Davis
CDM: Gleeson
RAM: Cotterill
CAM: Toral
LAM: Maghoma
ST: Donaldson

Substitutes: Legzdins, Robinson, Shotton, Buckley, Kieftenbeld, Fabbrini, Solomon-Otabor.

As you can see, I have reverted back to our usual formation for this game at St.Andrews because I feel like we really need to have a go at this game and start on the front foot.

By changing the formation, I have brought in Jacques Maghoma, who was superb off the bench on Sunday against Wolves, for Maikel Kieftenbeld.

In recent weeks, the Dutch midfielder has been out of sorts, that may be down to him being one yellow card away from a suspension, I don’t know, but I have a feeling Gary Rowett may drop him and leave David Davis playing as Stephen Gleeson’s partner in crime.

Blues fans, what do you make of this weeks predicted line up? Are we right to drop Maikel Kieftenbeld? Or should we stick with all three in the middle? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
