Birmingham City take on Derby County on Friday night in what will be their second televised game in a week.

Manager Gary Rowett will be hoping that the extra couple of days off will give his side the boost that they need.

However, personally, I am skeptical about the fact that Blues have had time off. For all we know, the break could have disrupted the flow of performances from the squad but we can all hope that this isn’t the case.

Derby took on promotion favourites Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, a game that they came from behind to draw 1-1 and Blues will be hoping to capitalise on the fact that they may be a little tired from having played three times in a week.

Having taken a look at how the side has performed in the opening few games of the season and having seen how experimental Rowett is willing to be, I have decided to adjust the team, but only slightly.

Below is the starting XI that I would personally send out against the Rams on Friday night, including substitutes.

GK- Kuszczak
RB- Caddis
CB- Morrison
CB- Spector
LB- Grounds
CDM- Davis
CDM- Gleeson
RAM- Cotterill
CAM- Toral
LAM- Gray
ST- Donaldson

Substitutes: Legzdins, Eardley, Robinson, Kieftenbeld, Shinnie, Maghoma, Thomas.

Despite Kieftenbeld’s solid performances against Reading and Burnley, I think Rowett may chose to rest him for this game in order for Davis to stake a claim for a spot in the first team.

Blues fans, what do you make of my predictions? Do you agree with me that Davis should be given another chance? Or do you think that Kieftenbeld and Gleeson have nailed down their spots for the season? Let us know in the comment section down below!
