Birmingham City are busy preparing themselves for a tough trip to the Cardiff City stadium as Gary Rowett’s men look to cling onto ninth spot, one place higher than last seasons tenth placed finish.

Russell Slade, the Cardiff City job, has done a wonderful job with the Welsh club this season and although they just missed out on the play-offs, they are sure to be a very tough end of season test for Blues.

The Bluebirds are two places and five points better off than Blues and with both teams sitting in the position that they can finish in, there could be an end of season feel to the lunchtime game this weekend.

In the reverse fixture, Blues came out 1-0 winners thanks to a dubious penalty that was tucked away by the reliable Paul Caddis and I am sure a number of fans wouldn’t say no to a similar result if it came around once again on Saturday.

Blues have only lost one of their previous five games end of season games, winning two and drawing two, so the signs are there for a draw as there seems to be a pattern that is emerging.

With Rowett suggesting that some of the youth players might be given a chance during this weekends game, I have tailored my team to try and predict which way he will go.

GK: Legzdins
RB: Caddis
CB: Morrison
CB: Shotton
LB: Grounds
CDM: Adams
CDM: Kieftenbeld
RAM: Cotterill
CAM: Fabbrini
LAM: Solomon-Otabor
ST: Donaldson

Substitutes: Trueman, Spector, Robinson, Davis, Gleeson, Vaughan, Lafferty.

As you can see, I have put Charlee Adams into the central defensive midfield role ahead of Stephen Gleeson which might seem like a bit of a silly change but it could potentially happen in my eyes as I think Adams is ready to make the step up.

I have also put Viv Solomon-Otabor out on the left wing ahead of David Davis as it would be really nice to see him start a game from the first whistle and I think he would bring a slight edge of unpredictability to our game.

Blues fans, do you agree with the side that we have predicted for this weekends game? Let us know in the comment section down below!
