Birmingham City host 22th placed Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night as Gary Rowett’s side look to get back to winning ways having failed to win either of their last two games.

The game against the Trotters is the ideal game for Rowett’s men to pick up points and I think he will have been drumming that into the squad over the past 10 days.

Blues will have had a longer break compared to Bolton, who were in action against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday and it could make all the difference in terms of energy throughout the 90 minutes.

The last time the two sides met, Blues were the victors and I think there will be a similar outcome again and with key players coming back into the fold like David Cotterill, then I think Blues fans will certainly enjoy this fixture.

I think there could be a few changes to the side that drew with Rotherham United over a week ago, most notably with on loan Sunderland winger Will Buckley dropping to the bench as Cotterill looks set to make a return to first team action.

Down below is the side that I would send out against the Trotters on Tuesday night…

GK: Kuszczak
RB: Shotton
CB: Morrison
CB: Robinson
LB: Grounds
CDM: Gleeson
RM: Cotterill
LM: Maghoma
CAM: Toral
ST: Vaughan
ST: Donaldson

Substitutes: Legzdins, Caddis, Spector, Kieftenbeld, Buckley, Davis, Fabbrini.

As you can see I have completely changed the formation that was put out at the New York Stadium and I think it could be something that Rowett might try out.

Like the change to the formation, I have also made a few changes to the side that picked up a 0-0 draw against the Millers.

I have opted to bring James Vaughan and Cotterill into the starting XI in place of Maikel Kieftenbeld and the previously mentioned Buckley.

This complete change in tactic might be something that Rowett has been experimenting with in training during the break from the league and it could be something that he is willing to try out against the bottom of the league side.

Blues fans, let us know what your thoughts are on the team that has been selected above? Would it be refreshing to see a change in formation? Tell us what you think in the comment section down below!
