Birmingham City take on Benfica B later on today (27th July) in a behind closed doors match and after a poor performance against Burton Albion at the weekend, manager Gary Rowett will be hoping that his squad can get back to winning ways quickly.
After naming what is most likely his strongest team against the Brewers on Saturday, I believe he will try and play the players that are on the fringes of the first team.
The likes of Wes Thomas, Koby Arthur and David Cotterill all got game time against Rowett’s old side but none of them got the full 90 minutes they may have been looking for.
Therefore, my starting line up features a mixture of both youth and experience as the squad continues to prepare for what looks like yet another tough season in the championship.
