A body crushing blow was dealt to Gary Rowett’s side on Saturday afternoon when Gary Hooper scored two goals in two minutes to ensure that Sheffield Wednesday completed the double over Birmingham City.

Blues took the lead deep into stoppage time in the first half when Clayton Donaldson slotted the ball past substitute keeper Lewis Price.

Some good closing down from captain Michael Morrison saw the ball spin kindly in the direction of Donaldson who calmly placed the ball beyond Price.

With their first real menacing attack of the second half the visitors drew level.

Hooper, who joined the Owls on a permanent deal in January dropped his shoulder and left his defender for dead before firing his shot in off the underside of the bar from 20 yards out.

The first goal, which was voted goal of the day on Sky Sports News, was shortly followed by his second of the afternoon.

Italian play-maker Fernando Forestieri powered his way down the right hand flank and played a delighted full ball across the box where former Norwich City man Hooper was waiting to tap into an empty net.

The win for Wednesday sees them move back into the play-off spots and they are now three points clear of the Blues who are still sat in eighth.

Down below are the ratings that I would give each player based on how I feel they performed during the game.
